A blog (short for web log) is a user-generated website where entries are made in journal style and displayed in a reverse chronological order.
Blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject -- such as food, politics, or local news -- and some function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and Links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on photographs (photoblog), sketchblog, videos (vlog), or audio (podcasting), and are part of a wider network of social media.
The ability for readers to leave Comments in an interactive format is an important part of most blogs, especially in their early stages -- so we need your help!
There are numerous ways to follow Blogs, such as a news reader like Google News Reader, or just stopping by the site every once in a while. We give you the option here to subscribe to the Egan Blog through email, or you'll also find the Subscribe box on our site in the lower right corner. This feature will send you the articles that we post directly into your email inbox. And don't worry -- we'll only send you one email per day on the days we post an update -- if no new posting, then no new email.
